In the article “Setting the record straight on value of palliativecare” expresses the view points on how people feel on getting care for families
and individuals diagnosed with life-threatening and serious illnesses. There has
been debates on healthcare, but Ted Cruz has claimed that Palliative care must
go, and that just because we because we are able to do everything doesn’t mean
we should. How can he say this? Kids don’t asked to be born with life-threatening
diseases, people don’t ask to be diagnosed with serious illness in their
lifetime. These things just kind of happen, and I’m pretty sure if anyone had
to encounter these measures whether its them, child, or family member they
would want the support or some kind of care specialized specifically for that
condition. Ted Cruz has no sympathy because maybe he’s never been in the situation,
he states again “just because we can do everything, doesn’t mean we should.” This
right here shows me that repairing Obamacare isn’t just about reforming
healthcare, but actually taking it from the people that need it the most.
Families
believe that palliative care, should always be available. For the babies that
born in life-threatening situations or elders that about to pass due to serious
illnesses, the public says that “the focus isn’t on death but on life.” I
understand this completely cause I have a child and something life changing
would happen to him, I would hope to have the support from my healthcare plan.
In the article, Barbara Jones, takes the sides for the Americans instead of the
government, she explains how we benefit from the palliative and healthcare.
Comparing the beliefs of the government to what she believes and how Americans utilize
palliative care, I agree with author that the government doesn’t care about people
just about making money.
